The winner for this years award goes to Mark Powell for his idea for RFID Blind Navigation.
His idea assists blind people to navigate public spaces using a combination of known technology and RFID tags recovered from abbatoirs. Together they form a unique navigation system that could be used in shopping malls / hospitals / etc.
